When I think about leaving Louisiana, the first thing that comes to mind is, “I’m sure going to miss the food!”
Red beans and rice, gumbo, crawfish, boudin, New Orleans style BBQ shrimp……. I love it all.
You may be thinking, you’re from Pennsylvania, what do you know about spicy food, but in my family, I was raised on flavor and spice and if there is one thing Louisiana does right, it’s food.
This weekend, I went to Parrain’s and indulged in some crab and corn soup and chargrilled oysters – two of my favorites.
The creaminess of the soup paired with the sweetness of the crab and the buttery garlic and spices on the oysters are just heaven for your taste buds. And then you soak up the extra juice in the shell with the bread… ahhh it’s amazing.
If you’re in the Baton Rouge area, I definitely recommend checking out Parrain’s! They have so many good dishes and appetizers.
Now I’m hungry again…..
