Something that my Momma and I love to do when we’re out and about is go to antique or vintage shops and just cruise the aisles checking out all the random stuff.

A lot of times, we don’t even buy anything, but it’s just so fun seeing all of the random treasures inside. You know what they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. You honestly never know what you’re going to find, but sometimes you’re lucky enough to come across a hidden gem.

I had one of those times a few weeks ago. We were in a shop called the Wildflower Marketplace in my hometown of Waynesboro, PA. It’s a really cute little barn that the owners fixed up and made into a spot for vendors to sell their art, jewelry, antiques and refurbished furniture. It’s one of my favorites.

Anyway, I was looking around upstairs when a really unique-looking leather purse caught my eye. It looked as if it had never been used even though I could tell it was several decades old. When I picked it up, I found out it was from the 1950’s. Of course it was. Those who know me well know I’m always drawn to stuff from this era. I was expecting it to be pretty pricey based on the condition, but I was pleasantly surprised. It had a price tag of…… are you guys ready for this? $6!

Seriously ….$6. For a genuine leather vintage purse. It even had the original manufacturer’s guarantee in it stating the purse could be returned to them with 50 cents for handling, packaging and postage! (see photo)

It was quite a steal, and I’ve been using it ever since. It’s the perfect size for your wallet, keys and phone without being bulky. I had some luck in the past, but this was definitely one of my favorite vintage finds so far.

Do you like to shop vintage/antique? What is something special to you that you’ve found? 😊
